This is How Our Garden Grows

This is the first year that we have planted a vegetable garden. It's pretty amazing to watch everything grow especially those plants that we started from seeds.

In this box we have sprouts of assorted lettuces, spinach, arugula, Swiss chard and two variety of beets. I learned this weekend that we started the lettuce way too late so we can expect it to be too bitter to eat. I guess we'll consider this our learning crop.

Here's our baby crookneck squash!

This box contains two types of squash, cantaloupe, green beans, cucumbers, four varieties of heirloom tomatoes and a pumpkin for Quinn. Pumpkins are one of Quinn's favorite things in the whole wide worlds. She calls them "mem-mees" and we know where the last "mem-mee" in Austin is. We drive by it whenever we are in the neighborhood. It brings her so much delight. I cannot wait to take her to a pumpkin patch this fall!

  1. Your Dad was inspired by the box and wants to build one. Are the instructions in that book Gardening for Dummys? You might want to tell him whe you talk next time on Sunday.
